More about this plant
A true weeping redbud reaching only 5 to 6 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, with slightly contorted, cascading branches that are completely covered in rosy lavender-pink flowers in early spring before the heart-shaped green leaves appear. Growth is moderate. It wants full sun, with light shade welcome in hotter regions, and moist, well drained sandy loam, watered when the top three inches of soil dry. Use it as a focal point specimen in a shrub border, beside an entryway or on a patio, and train it when young to develop the umbrella-like canopy.
