More about this plant
Double Play Dolly is a compact mounded deciduous spirea 18 inches to 2.5 feet tall and wide. Its colour arrives early: new foliage fills in blazing orange red in spring, matures to a dazzling chartreuse, and in late spring electric purple blooms arrive above it. It wants part sun to full sun, with full sun preferred, average water, and little care beyond an optional light trim after the spring bloom to bring on a reflush of red growth and removing the oldest stems every couple of years. Deer resistant and hardy from zone 3 to zone 8, it works as an edging or border plant, a container filler, a mass planting or a small specimen.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 2.5 ft tall and 2.5 ft wide
- Blooms in spring, summer
- Hardy in USDA zones 3-8
- Deciduous foliage
