More about this plant
Chinese snowball viburnum is a rounded to vase shaped shrub that can reach 6 to 25 feet tall and 10 to 20 feet wide, carrying dome shaped cymes 3 to 8 inches across in spring and sometimes again in fall. The blooms open chartreuse and quickly turn pure white, and because they are sterile they carry no fragrance and set no fruit on most cultivated plants. The dark green elliptical to ovate leaves are serrate with pubescent undersides and hold late, deciduous to semi evergreen depending on the winter. It takes full sun or partial shade in acid clay, loam or sandy soil with good drainage, is mildly deer resistant, and NCSU reports no serious problems.
