More about this plant
Chindo is a fast growing, dense, erect and pyramidal broadleaf evergreen 10 to 12 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, grown above all for its glossy leathery dark green leaves 3 to 7 inches long, which give it the name mirror leaf viburnum. Fragrant white tubular flowers open in rounded clusters in spring and are followed by pendulous red to purple drupes in fall. It takes full sun or partial shade in clay, loam or sandy soil at any pH with good drainage, tolerates occasional dryness, and is deer resistant and drought tolerant. Its speed and density make it a first choice evergreen screen or tall hedge.
