More about this plant
Stellar Pink is a Rutgers hybrid of flowering dogwood and kousa dogwood with a dense, upright habit reaching 15 to 30 feet tall and wide. Showy pink petal like bracts open in spring and give the appearance of one large four petaled flower, and the dark green leaves turn purplish red in fall. The plant is sterile and produces no fruit. It grows in full sun to partial shade in well drained, acidic soil high in organic matter, and it is resistant to anthracnose and dogwood borers, which makes it a durable alternative to the native flowering dogwood.
