More about this plant
Snow is a dwarf, bun shaped, bushy selection of Sawara false cypress with mossy blue grey foliage tipped in white, growing slightly more than an inch a year and reaching about 14 inches tall and wide in ten years. It has a tendency to burn in full sun or cold wind and to break under the weight of snow, while deep shade produces open, less colorful growth, so a sheltered site with some shade suits it best. The species behind it is a scale and needle leaved evergreen conifer from Japan that grows in soil that is moist but well drained and tolerates acid through alkaline conditions. Use the small variegated mound as an accent in a rock garden or a container where its white tipped foliage can be seen up close.
- Part Shade
- Grows to 20 ft tall and 12 ft wide
- Hardy in USDA zones 4-8
- Evergreen foliage
