More about this plant
Regal Prince is a hybrid oak, a cross between the fastigiate English oak and swamp white oak, that grows narrow and upright to about 50 feet tall by 20 feet wide. Its leaves are intermediate between the parents, glossy and leathery, and stay green under drought stress. It is fast growing for an oak, more tolerant of poor drainage than swamp white oak, takes a higher soil pH than straight Quercus bicolor, and performs in both wet and dry conditions once established. It resists wind, ice and the mildew that troubles English oak. The narrow habit makes it a good tree for tight spaces, used as a screen or specimen rather than a broad shade tree.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 50 ft tall and 20 ft wide
- Hardy in USDA zones 4-9
- Deciduous foliage
