More about this plant

Thin Man is a selection of the eastern North American species Thuja occidentalis, a dense evergreen conifer with fine textured, scale like foliage that is yellowish green to grayish green beneath and holds through winter. The species is slow growing and low maintenance, taking full sun to partial shade and clay or loam soils that stay moist but drain well, and it tolerates neutral to alkaline pH, urban pollution, wet soil and black walnut. Small oblong light brown cones ripen in summer and the shredding, furrowed bark and dense habit give cover to songbirds and small mammals. It is used for hedges, screens, foundation plantings and specimens.
