More about this plant
Anna's Magic Ball arborvitae is a small, mounded, rounded evergreen selection of Thuja occidentalis that grows 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide, developed in Canada for cold hardiness. Its scale-like foliage is a cheerful yellow with greenish tones and turns coppery in the freezing months, and the plant needs no pruning to keep its tight, rounded shape, though it may be trimmed in early summer. Give it part sun to full sun of four hours or more, average water, and deep, well drained soil. Space plants 36 to 48 inches apart. It suits containers, troughs, rock gardens, perennial beds and general landscape use, where it reads as a bright yellow sphere against darker evergreens.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 3 ft tall and 4 ft wide
- Hardy in USDA zones 3-8
