More about this plant

Sting is an exceptionally narrow arborvitae with a tight, columnar, upright form and a sword like silhouette, carrying green scale like evergreen foliage year round. It reaches about 15 to 20 feet tall while staying only 12 to 18 inches wide, so it fits screening jobs on very narrow sites and works as a bold vertical accent in mixed borders. Grow it in part sun to sun with average water in clay or loam soils that drain well; it needs little care, and any shaping is done in summer. The species is native to eastern North America and tolerates alkaline soils, urban pollution and black walnut.
