More about this plant
A variegated privet whose glossy evergreen leaves are edged in creamy white with irregular white blotches, growing slower than the plain species to about four to eight feet tall and wide and reaching four or five feet in ten years. Creamy white panicles open in late spring, followed by blue black drupes that birds spread. It takes sun through mostly shade in almost any well drained soil and tolerates deer, drought, salt and pollution. It shears well, which is why it is used as a medium hedge or a topiary, but it needs that shearing to stay dense.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 8 ft tall and 8 ft wide
- Blooms in spring
- Hardy in USDA zones 7-10
