More about this plant
A very slow growing, stiffly upright evergreen privet whose thick, rounded, contorted dark green leaves are crowded along the stems, giving it a texture no other privet has. It stays compact, roughly three to six feet tall and three to four feet wide, and carries creamy white panicles in late May and early June followed by black drupes that hold through winter. It takes sun through shade in almost any well drained soil and tolerates deer, drought, salt and urban conditions. Use it as a formal accent, a low hedge or a specimen where the curled foliage can be seen close up.
