More about this plant
A semi dwarf anglojap yew reaching about three to four feet tall, with pointed olive to dark green needles and lighter green undersides. Female plants carry red fleshy cup like arils in fall that songbirds take. It grows slowly in sun or shade on loam or sand and must have good drainage, since yews do not tolerate wet conditions, but it takes drought, dry soil, heavy shade, rabbits and urban conditions. Use it for hedges, barriers, foundation plantings and mass plantings. Every part except the fleshy aril is highly poisonous.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 4 ft tall and 15 ft wide
- Hardy in USDA zones 4-7
- Evergreen foliage
