More about this plant

A tall anglojap yew growing up to twenty feet, with pointed olive to dark green needles and lighter green undersides, long used for clipped hedges and screens. Female plants carry red fleshy cup like arils in fall that songbirds take. It grows slowly in sun or shade on loam or sand and must have good drainage, since yews do not tolerate wet conditions, but it takes drought, dry soil, heavy shade, rabbits and urban conditions. Every part except the fleshy aril is highly poisonous.
