More about this plant
Tree roses, also called standards, are ordinary rose varieties budded onto a single upright stem so the flowering head is carried well above the ground, which makes them a formal specimen for containers, patios, walkways and the centre of a bed. Flowers match the variety grafted on, running through red, orange, yellow, pink, purple and white, usually fragrant, good for cutting, and repeating from spring into fall on modern types. They need a full day of sun, at least six to eight hours, and loose, organically rich, well drained soil with deep watering. Maintenance is high: late winter pruning, deadheading, and staking, since the grafted stem needs support.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 8 ft tall and 6 ft wide
- Blooms in spring, summer, fall
- Hardy in USDA zones 5-9
- Deciduous foliage
