More about this plant
Radicans is a fast growing Japanese cedar reaching 40 to 45 feet tall and 15 to 20 feet wide, a medium sized form of this needled evergreen conifer. Short glossy blue green needles are spirally arranged for a foxtail effect and the reddish brown bark peels off in long showy strips, with round brown rosette like cones on the terminal branches. It wants organically rich, moist, acidic and well drained soil in full sun to some partial shade, with good air circulation and shelter from high winds.
