More about this plant
A small mounded mountain hydrangea of about 2 to 3 feet tall and wide that reblooms from summer through fall. The lacecap heads carry double florets that look like pink or blue waterlilies, with the colour set by soil chemistry, and the plant keeps forming new flower buds all summer on both old and new wood. Its buds are cold tolerant, so it flowers reliably even in colder zones. Give it at least four hours of sun a day, with afternoon shade an advantage in hot climates, and average moisture. Do not prune except to take out dead wood in early spring. Use it in borders, edging, containers, mass plantings, or as a small focal point.
- Part Shade
- Grows to 3 ft tall and 3 ft wide
- Blooms in summer, fall
- Hardy in USDA zones 5-9
- Deciduous foliage

- Reblooming lacecap heads whose double florets look like pink or blue waterlilies; the colour follows soil chemistry and new buds form all summer on both old and new wood.
- Light
- Morning Sun
- Pruning
- Does not need pruning except to remove dead wood in early spring. Avoid cutting it back during the growing season because that removes flower buds.
