More about this plant

A reblooming hydrangea 3 to 4 feet tall and about 3 feet wide that sets flower buds along the entire length of the stem instead of only at the top, so it still blooms after winter damage and is hardy to zone 4. The lacecap flowers show prominent sterile florets and are strawberry pink in neutral to alkaline soils or lavender to rich violet purple in acidic ones, carrying from summer through fall on both new and old wood. Proven Winners recommends part sun to sun with six or more hours, fertile moist but well drained soil, and no pruning beyond winter damage. It is also noted as salt tolerant.

  • Grows to 4 ft tall and 3 ft wide

  • Hardy in USDA zones 4-9

Flowers
Lacecap flowers with prominent sterile florets, strawberry pink in neutral to alkaline soils and lavender to rich violet purple in acidic ones, set along the entire length of the stem.
Pruning
Blooms on both new and old wood. Avoid pruning, which reduces flowering; remove only winter damaged growth in spring as new growth emerges. Fertilize with a granular rose fertilizer in early and late spring and never after late July.
