More about this plant

A semievergreen shrub discovered in North Carolina in 1997, growing 2.5 to 3.5 feet tall and spreading up to 6 feet in a dense, mounding to prostrate mat on reddish purple stems. Its variegated foliage starts bright green, becomes yellow with chartreuse centers, and turns gold, orange and red in fall, giving it colour in every season. Pinkish buds open to dainty fragrant white bell shaped flowers in terminal cymes from spring into fall, drawing bees, butterflies and songbirds. It wants full sun to partial shade and good drainage, tolerates drought, and is deer resistant. Use it as a ground cover, a low hedge, a mass planting on a slope, or in a container or patio pot.
