More about this plant
Italian cypress is a tall, narrow evergreen conifer with dark blue green scale like foliage that is fragrant when crushed, growing 40 to 70 feet tall but only 3 to 6 feet wide in a dense columnar to pyramidal form. Its native habitat is rocky mountainous ground, typically near coastlines in Europe and Asia. Dry, hard, glossy round seed cones persist on the branches and open in heat, and the thin smooth bark ages from gray to gray brown. It needs full sun and well drained loam or sand, tolerates a wide pH range, and stands up to drought, dry soil, heat, humidity, salt and wind. Watch for mites, bagworms, root rot and canker.

- Grows to 70 ft tall and 6 ft wide
