More about this plant

Golden Helleri is a cultivar of Japanese holly, a slow growing broadleaf evergreen shrub with small glossy leaves under an inch and a quarter long, crowded on the stems and edged with crenate teeth. Small dull greenish white fragrant flowers open in spring in clusters of one to three, and pollinated female plants carry small black globose drupes that ripen in early fall and persist into spring. Japanese holly grows in full sun to partial shade on well drained acid to neutral clay, loam or sandy soil, tolerates drought, shade and poor soil, and is used for low hedges, borders, foundation beds and mass plantings.
