More about this plant

Emily Bruner is a dense pyramidal broadleaf evergreen tree or large shrub reaching 15 to 20 feet tall and 5 to 8 feet wide, with horizontal branching and glossy dark green prickly leaves nearly five inches long. Small fragrant dull white flowers open in late spring, and on this female clone clusters of large vivid red berries encircle the stems in winter. It grows at a medium rate in full sun to partial shade on well drained acid to neutral soil and resists deer, but needs a male pollinizer such as James Swan to fruit. Use it as a screen, tall hedge or winter accent.
