More about this plant
A fast growing weeping willow whose stems grow with a pronounced corkscrew twist, strongest on fresh new growth, giving it real winter presence. Long narrow contorted green leaves are papery and serrate, and insignificant yellowish catkins appear in spring. It reaches about twenty to thirty feet tall and ten to fifteen feet wide in full sun on clay, loam or organic soils, and tolerates standing water, wet ground, deer and black walnut. Pollarding enhances the contortion. Use it as a specimen in a lawn, a rain garden or beside a pond, and expect the usual willow blights, mildews, cankers and borers.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 30 ft tall and 15 ft wide
- Blooms in spring
- Hardy in USDA zones 5-8
- Deciduous foliage
