More about this plant
An Auburn University plum selection carrying white, cup shaped, five petalled flowers in spring followed by deep red fruit about 1.5 to 2 inches across with sweet, juicy golden-yellow flesh. The tree is rounded, medium growing and deciduous, with green serrate leaves 3 to 6 inches long. It needs full sun and a deep, well drained loam to sandy clay loam, and Clemson recommends spacing plum trees 18 to 22 feet apart at a soil pH near 6.0 to 6.5. Flowers draw butterflies and pollinators, making it a productive edible garden or lawn tree. All parts other than the ripe fruit are reported toxic to dogs, cats and horses.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 33 ft tall and 30 ft wide
- Blooms in spring
- Hardy in USDA zones 6-8
- Deciduous foliage
