More about this plant
A smaller red maple selection with a symmetrically ovate crown, growing 20 to 35 feet tall and 15 to 25 feet wide, which makes it usable where a full size maple would be too large. It is a seedless male clone, so it sets no fruit, and its fall colour is a long lasting brilliant red. Small red flowers open in short drooping clusters in late winter before the leaves and give bees an early nectar source. It grows fast in full sun to partial shade in moist, slightly acidic, fertile soil and tolerates compaction, drought, heat, pollution and wet soil.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 35 ft tall and 25 ft wide
- Blooms in winter, spring
- Hardy in USDA zones 2a-9b
- Deciduous foliage
- Native plant
