More about this plant

The smallest of the fringe flowers, recorded by Clemson at only 1.5 to 3 feet tall, with dark purple foliage on rough, sandpapery leaves and bright pink four petalled flowers with wavy, strap like petals in spring. It needs acidic, well drained soil, grows in full sun to part shade and becomes drought tolerant once established. Its very low habit makes it useful as a ground cover, a bank planting, a border edge or a container plant, and it is generally pest free and deer resistant.
