More about this plant
A low, spreading camellia with a distinctly weeping form, reaching about 4 to 5 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, with glossy dark green leathery leaves 1 to 3 inches long. A profusion of hot pink semidouble blooms with golden yellow centers opens from fall through winter. It needs an organically rich, well drained, acidic soil kept mulched to hold the roots cool, and grows well in filtered or partial shade. Its low wide habit makes it a natural low hedge, foundation cover, large scale ground cover or specimen in a shaded bed.
