More about this plant
The most widely grown of the Little Girl hybrid magnolias, a multi stemmed deciduous shrub or small tree to about 15 feet. Its highly fragrant flowers are reddish purple outside and white within, opening on bare stems in spring later than star and saucer magnolias so the buds usually escape late frosts. Give it full sun to partial shade and rich, porous, acidic, well drained soil, and avoid southern exposures that force it into premature bloom. At this size it fits borders, patios and small lawns, and the flowers carry well as a spring focal point.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 15 ft tall and 25 ft wide
- Blooms in spring
- Hardy in USDA zones 4-9
- Deciduous foliage
