More about this plant

Cinnamon Girl is a compact evergreen distylium growing 2 to 3 feet tall and 3 to 4 feet wide with a rounded to spreading habit. Plum purple new growth matures to blue green, and the small leathery, glossy leaves give a dense, refined look that makes it an alternative to boxwood in the South. Petalless flowers with red calyces and purple stamens appear in late winter to early spring. It takes full sun to part shade, grows in clay, loam or sandy soil across a wide pH range, tolerates heat, drought and damp soil, and is deer resistant with no significant pest or disease damage. Use it in mass plantings, borders and low foundation beds.
