More about this plant
Belle of Georgia is a white fleshed freestone peach dating from 1870s Georgia, sweeter and less acidic than yellow peaches. Profuse fragrant pink blossoms open in early to mid spring, followed in late summer by large creamy white peaches with brilliant red cheeks and firm, juicy, red tinged flesh. The tree is self pollinating, reaches roughly 15 to 25 feet with a rounded spreading crown, and is resistant to bacterial leaf spot and brown rot. It performs best in full sun in moist, slightly acidic to neutral, well drained soil, needs at least 800 chilling hours for a reliable crop, and requires regular pruning. The seeds are poisonous and dropped fruit is messy.
- Full Sun
- Grows to 25 ft tall and 25 ft wide
- Blooms in spring
