More about this plant
A small, slow growing fullmoon maple reaching about 8 to 12 feet tall and 6 to 8 feet wide, valued for soft colouring that carries through spring, summer and fall. New growth emerges yellow to burnt orange over underlying tones of orange, salmon and chartreuse, and the foliage finishes the season orange with shades of gold to red. It performs best in cool summer climates in slightly acidic, well drained soil kept consistently moist but not soggy, sheltered from drying winds and harsh afternoon sun, with mulch to keep the roots cool. It is an outstanding small tree for city gardens with limited space and can serve as a light privacy screen.
